Mechanics. Evenness comes off you. Not sluggishness: the steadiness of someone who can mix the unmixable without spilling. In a group you are the link through which two people who have quarrelled talk, and you do it not out of diplomacy but because you really understand both and see no need to pick a side. There are few extremes in you. Few abrupt movements too. People read you as safe and so trust you sooner than the length of acquaintance would justify, and you do not take advantage of this, and they feel that as well.

Works when you need to combine the incompatible and hold the process for a long time: medicine, psychology, cooking, restoration, work with teams from different worlds, any task where the result is built from a thousand small exact doses. You can wait for ripening and not tug at it. Your blends come out where for others it ends up a mess. You do the thing almost nobody gets to: add a little at a time and taste after every spoonful, instead of dumping everything in at once and hoping.

Breaks when moderation turns into lukewarm water. You smooth things over so carefully that you stop taking a position: you hush a conflict instead of resolving it, explain someone's sharpness by their tiredness, and dilute your own displeasure to the point where nobody hears it, you included. The second failure is eternal preparation. The conditions are always imperfect, the moment not ideal, and you add a drop at a time for another year, and then it turns out that someone released a similar thing half-baked, gathered all the customers and is calmly finishing it on their money.

What it looks like:

• Since childhood, in your parents' quarrels you stood between them as an interpreter, and to this day you step into the middle of any conflict automatically, even when nobody asked and both sides are wrong.
• Asked "and what do you think?", you answer in a balanced way, and a day later nobody remembers what exactly was said.
• Your projects launch late, but almost without errors.

What to do.

1. Once a week, take a side aloud, even if both are understandable.
2. Set a launch date before everything is ready. It is never ready.
3. Voice your irritation the same day, while it can still be told apart by taste.
