The Magician in the centre of the Matrix of Destiny

Mechanics. The centre of the chart is about what people read in you before you say a word. Here the Magician gives the effect of someone who has everything within reach: people come to you for a solution rather than sympathy, usually the evening before a deadline, when every other option has been tried and failed. Find it, connect it, invent a workaround, remember who has the right contact. You can do that. People around you sense that something will move when you are there, and the feeling arrives before you have done anything. From outside it looks like energy. Inside it is simply speed: while others are still phrasing the problem, you already have three options in your head, and one of them works.

Works when there is a concrete task and a deadline. A startup, a renovation, a move, somebody else's wedding, a project on fire. Chaos pulls you together, because it gives you material, and from material you can make something in one evening. The Magician is strong not because they know the most. They are the first to pick up the tool.

Breaks when there is no task and you still have to show yourself. Then the conjuror takes over: promises made on pure enthusiasm, "I'll sort it out right now" with no resources behind it, ten things started and none finished, because the excitement ends exactly where the routine begins. The second failure is quieter and more hurtful. People start calling you only as a function: they all need your phone book, your mechanic, your knack for sorting things out quickly, and it never occurs to anyone to talk to you about you.

What it looks like:

What to do.

  1. Keep one thing that you finish in any mood. One, not five.
  2. Once a month, check who in your circle calls you for no reason. If there is nobody, the business card has eaten the person.
  3. Promise out loud only what already has time set aside in your calendar.

Takeaway: people remember you as the one who can; make sure "can" is followed by "did".
