Wheel of Fortune in the centre of the Matrix of Destiny
Mechanics. Something is always happening around you. Coincidences, sudden offers, chance meetings that turn out to matter: you arrive in a new place and there is certainly someone there who knows your former classmate, and through them the whole next story unfolds. People read you as lucky. Partly fairly. Only the price of this luck is not visible from outside: life goes in waves, and the fall comes as suddenly as the rise, and you cannot get used to it. You cannot plan five years ahead. But you feel the moment when it is time to go in, and you go in.
Works when the situation is fluid: new markets, mediation, any story about "being in the right place at the right time". You are good where the task is not to build for years but to notice in time and fit in. Your sense of the moment is better than calculation: where an analyst counts and doubts, you already understand that the time has come, though you cannot explain the decision in words and afterwards invent an explanation after the fact.
Breaks when the bet is placed on luck instead of a system. No reserves, no cushion, agreements by word of mouth, and the first wave down sweeps everything away at once, because there is nothing to hold on to. The second failure is of a different nature: you start waiting for a sign. Instead of deciding you look for confirmation outside, and life meanwhile decides for you. Signs are always found, too: for any wish a coincidence turns up, for any fear as well, and in the end it is not fate that chooses but whatever mood you were in on Tuesday.
What it looks like:
- You find work by chatting by chance in a queue; the next job too; and to "how do you do it" you honestly answer that you do not know.
- Your good years are very good, your bad years very bad, and level ones are almost never seen.
- Money arrives in jerks and runs out in much the same way: a generous month when you treat everyone and buy gadgets, then three months of counting what is left and not understanding where it all went.
What to do.
- Build the cushion on the rise, not in the fall. Three months of expenses in the account changes the whole amplitude.
- Put agreements in writing, even with friends. Especially with friends.
- One boring, regular thing must exist in your life. It holds when the wheel goes down.
Takeaway: you are lucky more often than others; luck stands on a cushion, otherwise it is just a swing.
